Finding Your Soulmate |
||
Not everyone believes in soulmates. Perhaps it is a rather romantic notion. Is there a perfect match made especially for you? Is there one person, in about three billion of the opposite sex, who is an exact complement of your personality? Maybe there is, maybe there isn’t. It reminds me of something my mother used to tell me when she told me stories of fairies and ghosts – “nothing exists until you believe it does…” Who is a soul mate? It is someone you love, trust, respect and care for, all at once and all the time. What is love then? A human personality comprises of four aspects – heart, mind, body and soul. The heart is something that is surrendered unconditionally. One may lose their heart quite a few times during their span of life. The heart does not question. It does not argue. Our heart is where our feelings come from, the emotional aspect of us. The mind is the part that thinks. It tells the wrong from the right. Logic and reasoning is what the mind functions by. It is also our intellect, the educated and learned part of our personality. The mind is what criticizes and appreciates. It is also the hardest to win over. The body is perhaps the strongest way of expression. It speaks of what you feel and think. However, the body is only as loyal as you want it to be. The body lusts, but love comes from the heart and mind. Without the body, expression of love is incomplete. This is the only aspect we have complete control over. When we lose our heart, surrender our body and have our mind won over, our soul is lost to the person. When we lose our soul, we are truly in love. Anyone who can conquer the first three is our soul mate. The soul does not have a definition. It is the living part of us, our identity. We lose our identity when we start to belong to someone. We become a part of them and they become a part of us. So what makes us lose our heart and mind to someone? The heart never reasons, it depends on intuition. Once we lose our heart, we are quite helpless about what might happen to our heart and to us. Perhaps heart is where the love actually comes from. The heart defies logic and gives people a chance. The heart is easily lost, but not too hard to heal when it is hurt. The mind is what we respect. Intelligence, sense of humor, logic and intellect all come from the mind. It would be hard to respect someone who has no brains. One mind respects another when they are similar. Though it may not seem like a lot to ask for, meeting a person who can capture our heart and mind is extremely hard. If you do, be happy, because you have found your true calling – your soul mate.
